Job Description

The Corrections Oversight Worker supervises inmates to ensure that meal and food items are prepared in accordance with production plans. This role involves training workers, assigning and coordinating work to promote efficiency, and maintaining sanitation and safety standards. Responsibilities may vary by location based on client needs.

Job Responsibilities

1. Adhere to and maintain preparation and production guidelines according to Aramark standards by reviewing and approving logs.
2. Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
3. Ensure timely and efficient meal service, meeting all guidelines.
4. Participate in meal preparation and serving.
5. Print and distribute recipes.
6. Train inmates on proper cooking procedures and use of recipes.
7. Ensure proper portions and dietary requirements are met.
8. Obtain and review daily population counts.
9. Follow security policies, lock storage areas, and secure keys.
10. Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are returned and secured.
11. Determine work procedures, prepare schedules, and ensure adherence to sanitation and work schedules.
12. Assist in inventory management and food storage, and requisition supplies as needed.
13. Participate in meal assembly and storage following HACCP policies.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years old.
• Preferred minimum of one year of food prep or related experience.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience interacting with inmates is a plus.
• Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and team members.
• Ability to obtain a food safety certification.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Follow safety procedures and policies.
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional security clearance.

Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking. Uniforms and PPE may be required.
