Position: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The supervisor will oversee all activities of the deli/food service department, ensuring merchandising, sales, and customer service goals are met. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of food service management experience and a passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Managing department staff, achieving goals, and communicating with store management and supervisors.
  • Hiring, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
  • Scheduling staff shifts.
  • Engaging with customers positively, offering product information, and providing excellent service.
  • Processing customer orders and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
  • Overseeing food preparation and merchandising of deli items like entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, roller grill items, beverages, and snacks.
  • Displaying products per company guidelines and following recipes accurately.
  • Rotating stock for quality and safety, controlling shrinkage.
  • Receiving and auditing merchandise, managing inventory counts.
  • Completing paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Handling cash register transactions, ensuring correct pricing and weights.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of sales areas and storage.
  • Ensuring safety procedures are followed.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a food management role, preferably in a fresh foods environment.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, and assist other locations.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Serv-Safe certification preferred.
  • Passion for food and creativity.
  • Professional and courteous communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems.
  • Ability to read labels, signage, and policies.
  • Knowledge of deli ingredients and food safety practices.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Reaching, bending, standing for long periods, and working in coolers/freezers.
  • Dexterity to use knives, slicers, and other equipment.
