Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (LWRMC) is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee the production areas of the Food and Nutrition Services Department. The role emphasizes maintaining service excellence and supervising daily activities, with varied scheduling and opportunities for growth within UHS.

The supervisor will train staff, ensure safety, monitor productivity, and work with customers to ensure satisfaction in quality and service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in food management preferred.
• 1-2 years supervisory experience required
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in institutional food production required
• Current FL vehicle driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities of subordinates and assign responsibility for specific tasks.
• Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Train employees and orient new staff.
• Monitor productivity and recommend improvements for service or efficiency.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure quality and patient satisfaction.
• Attend training and ensure daily opening/closing procedures are followed.

Job Overview

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising the operation of the production areas of the Food and Nutrition Services Department and for the ongoing assessment and improvement of those areas during their shift. The Food Services Supervisor supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities

• Understands and follows all policies and procedures.
• Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees.
• Assists in monitoring employee productivity and provides suggestions for increased service or productivity.
• Responsible for the supervision of day-to-day activities of subordinates and assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities as directed by on-site management.
• Responsible for orientation and training of employees.
• Performs day-to-day assignments in addition to supervision duties.
• Works with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution.
• Takes an interest and initiative in the development of the food service team.
• Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
• Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
• Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
• Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
• Maintains key control of operations and responsible for activities to ensure opening, closing, and daily procedures are completed.
• Serves as a working lead, coordinating activities of workers or service employees engaged in food operations
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
