Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care’s Food & Nutrition Services seeks a Food Service Supervisor to oversee general service staff in designated areas and enforce departmental work guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities include maintaining staffing levels, forecasting, ordering menu items to meet demand, and assisting in providing food service as needed. The role is full-time, on-campus in Iowa City with rotating weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Requires leadership experience supervising food service staff.
• Experience in scheduling and forecasting to meet demand.
• Knowledge of food safety principles and HACCP is preferred.

• Maintain adequate staffing, food quality, schedules, and quality assurance records
• Complete assigned forecasting
• Order menu items to meet demand
• Assist in providing food service as needed
• Attend assigned meetings and conducts staff meetings

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• High School graduation or equivalent and two years of directly related food distribution experience;
• or any equivalent combination of post high school education and experience providing a knowledge or background in institutional food service distribution
