About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. This includes preparing and serving food according to menus and work instructions, and utilizing food preparation utensils and machines.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service
• Prepare and assist in food preparation according to menus and recipes
• Ensure proper storage and sanitation of food
• Serve food during scheduled meal times
• Utilize kitchen equipment properly
• Follow food safety regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment
• Follow uniform policy
• Manage waste and cleanliness
• Ensure environment is ready for food prep and serving
• Review portions and utensils for service
• Promote a safe work environment
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, at least 18 years old
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience
