About This Position

This position is located in a Jail/Correctional Facility and involves working in close contact with inmates.

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members in the food service operation within a correctional facility. The role involves preparing and serving various food items accurately and efficiently, following work instructions and menus, and using food preparation utensils and machines.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service shifts

• Store food properly and maintain sanitation
• Serve food according to schedules and policies
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment following recipes and nutritional guidelines
• Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Adhere to uniform policies
• Manage garbage and keep kitchen clean
• Ensure the environment is ready for food prep and serving
• Review portion sizes and utensil use for proper service
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment
• This role involves physical activities such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years old
• Preferred: experience in institutional or restaurant food service
