About This Role

This full-time, benefits eligible position offers a unique opportunity to participate in food production for JP\'s Sports Grill, a retail restaurant serving the on-campus and Manhattan community and to work as part of a team dedicated to providing and supporting a \"guest first\" service culture.

• Provides leadership and oversight for kitchen operations with a focus on food production, staff training, sanitation, and operational efficiency.
• Actively participates in food production and is involved in playing a key role in delivering a high-quality dining experience and supports the success of a self-sustaining food service operation through effective leadership, quality assurance, and customer service.
• Oversees inventory by ordering food, supplies, and cleaning materials, while ensuring the accuracy of deliveries and invoices. Serves as the culinary lead by organizing daily production schedules and preparation lists.
• Maintains compliance with all food safety standards.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications

Requires one year of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school graduation/GED
• One year of experience in full service, fast casual restaurant, or commercial/institutional kitchen
• From scratch volume food production experience
• Lead worker or supervisory experience
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to learn to perform basic math computations; to accurately weigh and measure ingredients
• Ability to use and care for equipment and handle food safely while preparing high quality products
