Job summary

Keefesupply is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and manage the kitchen in a correctional facility. The role involves preparing and serving diverse meals, following menus, and using a variety of food preparation tools.

You will report to the Food Service Director and work on-site inside the facility. The ideal candidate has a passion for food service, an understanding of food handling regulations, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, at least 18 years old.
• Preferred prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and service.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook and portion food according to recipes.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates.
• Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Other duties as required by the unit.

About This Position

***We currently have a full-time and part-time (20-25 hours per week) positions availability, and for both you must have open availability to work between the hours of: 3:00am - 6:00pm (this will include some weekends and Holidays)***

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director.You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need
