NUTRITION PROGRAM JOB OPENING

RSU 24 is seeking a Food Service Specialist II to join our team at Cave Hill School in Eastbrook. This is a school year position, working eight hours per day. The Food Service Specialist II prepares, cooks, and serves breakfast, lunch and after school snacks according to child nutrition, state and federal guidelines. The ideal candidate will have food service related experience, the ability to work independently, knowledge of food safety and basic computer skills. Successful candidate will be reliable, friendly, a team player and adapt easily to change. The Food Service Specialist II will be supported by the Nutrition Director. Pay is competitive and based on experience, ranging from $21.38-$25.13 per hour. Benefits include health & dental insurance, paid holidays, and much more.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities (other Duties May Be Assigned)

• Responsible for creating, maintaining, adjusting and monitoring a safe, effective working kitchen
• Responsible for ordering, storing, preparing, serving and inventorying all of the school food and non food items, after school snacks and special food related functions
• Prepares for properly, thaws, cooks, seasons, serves and records foods for consumption for all students and staff dining at the school in a timely manner
• Handling and preparing all foods in accordance with the sanitary requirements and State of Maine regulations for good nutrition
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots the Point of Sales cash register system to include, but not limited to entering data, making transactions to the student and adult accounts, counting money, reconciling, making deposits, and delivering reports to the central office in a timely manner
• Professionally cleans equipment, work area, tables, pots and pans, knives and other cooking related tool
• Demonstrates a team approach, through interaction with other staff, students and their family

Education & Experience: High school diploma (or GED) and 3 years of relevant food service experience preferred.
