The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services invites applications for a Food Service Worker 1 at the South Mountain Restoration Center. You will help prepare nutritious meals and snacks, assist with tray assembly, and keep a clean, sanitary dining environment for residents.

This full-time role offers a 40-hour workweek (10:30 AM–7:00 PM) with weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule. No telework option.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service is preferred
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements in a dietary department or food service operation is preferred
• Experience in cleaning, preparation, and serving in a kitchen setting is preferred

Responsabilités

• Food Preparation: Portion foods, prepare snacks, assemble supplements, and complete basic food prep tasks for meal service
• Tray Assembly: Set up tray lines, organize equipment and supplies, and assemble meal trays according to resident requirements
• Sanitation Practices: Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, food carts, work surfaces, and other food service equipment
• Supply Management: Store food and supplies in designated areas and maintain organized dining and storage locations
• Meal Distribution: Transport tray trucks, meals, snacks, and supplies to support daily dietary operations
• Waste Handling: Dispose of trash, garbage, and soiled linen using proper procedures and designated receptacles
