The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Food Service Worker Supervisor for the Richmond VA Medical Center.

This role supervises all food service activities and coordinates Food Service Workers across the Food Service Operations Section to ensure efficient meal preparation and service. You will oversee production, tray delivery, sanitation, inventory, and training, scheduling shifts, addressing issues on the floor, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and modified diets as

Qualifications

  • Experience demonstrating ability to supervise food service activities.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification preferred.
  • Qualification reviewed against federal standards and job elements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all areas of food production and service including preparation, nourishment, tray delivery and retrieval.
  • Takes corrective action for problems on the floor related to food service.
  • Inspects deliveries and requisitions supplies for all food service areas.
  • Prepares performance ratings/competencies for supervised employees.
  • Monitors attendance, provides guidance, and adjusts assignments as needed.
  • Ensures tasks meet schedules and quality standards.
  • Provides instruction within in-service training and for modified diets.
