JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Harrisburg's Housing and Food Services is seeking a full-time Food Service Production Worker A. Responsibilities include:

  • Taking customer orders and dispensing products following portion, timing, and temperature standards.
  • Suggesting products to customers to boost sales.
  • Setting up and checking utensils, equipment, signage, and food items according to standards.
  • Operating registers and handling cash transactions.
  • Preparing items per established procedures.
  • Attending required off-site training.
  • Ensuring customer service meets departmental standards.
  • Managing unit operations including setup, opening, closing, and adhering to policies.
  • Operating kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, beverage machines, etc.
  • Managing food supplies and inventory.
  • Reporting shortages or issues to management.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of work and dining areas.
  • Training and supervising part-time staff.
  • Ensuring proper uniform and dress code compliance.
  • Cleaning and maintenance activities including floors, equipment, and waste management.
  • Reporting equipment malfunctions and handling emergency situations.

Job Requirements: Effective use of English, basic arithmetic, and interpretation of reports and specifications. Requires 3 months to 1 year of relevant experience.

Work Schedule: Sunday 10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. | Days Off: Saturday, Sunday
