Job summary

Jacksons Food Stores in La Grande, OR is hiring for a part-time Food Service crew member. You’ll greet customers, serve hot and deli items, sample offerings to boost sales, and help keep the dining and checkout areas clean.

Flexible 24/7 availability is required, with night shifts paying a premium and opportunities for advancement. Prior food handling experience and a Food Handler Permit are preferred; we value teamwork and a friendly, reliable attitude.

Qualifications

• Flexible availability for a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior food handling experience is a plus.
• A Food Handlers Permit as required by local authorities.
• A passion for delivering friendly, fast, high-quality service.
• Excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile, thank them for their business, and invite them back.
• Serve as the go-to expert for fast food, deli, and beverage programs and promotions.
• Actively sample food items to build customer interest and drive sales.
• Keep food service equipment clean and in top condition; report issues as needed.
• Follow all sanitation, food safety, prep, and storage procedures.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized food, coffee, and checkout areas.
• Complete waste tracking and temperature logs as required.
• Cross-train as a cashier and support store operations as needed.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
