Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Food Service Worker I for our Nutrition Services department. The role involves setting up, serving, and cleanup of all food service activities, while maintaining safety and quality standards. The position supports cooks and supervisors and requires reliable teamwork in a fast-paced hospital cafeteria environment.

Work shift is variable with a 40 hour schedule per week. No degree is required, and prior food service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• No degree or diploma required.
• At least 1 year of food prep or production experience.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions; perform basic math.
• Safe and sanitary food handling practices.
• Able to use kitchen equipment such as knives and mixers.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize trays, dishes, equipment, and work areas following schedule.
• Receive and verify stock, rotate and store food and supplies.
• Set up workstation, prepare and portions hot and cold items according to sheets.
• Record temperatures and ensure food safety standards regularly.
• Communicate with cooks and staff to ensure smooth operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
