Salary: $19.59 per hour

General Description And Classification Standards

Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of food service activities. Responsibilities include cooking, serving, and washing dishes, as well as assisting with stocking and offsite catering preparations.

This position involves preparing meals for senior citizens and staff meetings on a weekly basis, along with providing meals for detainees and staff when needed. Additionally, the employee independently completes production logs and ensures compliance with meal verification and special diet requirements.

Other duties include cleaning, mopping, trash removal, inventory management, and paperwork completion for both staff and inmate dining areas. This role demands multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in the food service environment.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.

  • Prep food daily, including sandwiches for inmates, salads for staff, tuna, and assorted sandwiches for seniors.
  • Wash dishes after meal preparation and ensure proper storage.
  • Mop floors daily as needed to maintain cleanliness.
  • Cook meals for staff, senior citizens (150 people weekly), and staff meetings (weekly courtesy meals).
  • Wash dishes for both staff and inmate populations and take out trash accordingly.
  • Clean deep fryers and pop drains on a regular schedule.
  • Prepare all meals for the week for both staff and inmate populations, including inventory management and food truck organization.
  • Prepare meals for various events and offsite locations, such as senior citizen programs, city-sponsored events, and training sessions.
  • Complete daily production logs and temperature checks for coolers, warmers, and freezers.
  • Serve meals to approximately 150 people daily.
  • Receive and put away food deliveries, rotating stock and completing inventory tasks.
  • Label and date all supplies upon delivery to ensure proper organization.
  • Assist with offsite meal deliveries for trainings when requested.
  • Deep clean kitchen equipment regularly, including fryers, drains, ovens, coolers/freezers, and trash cans.
  • Clean and restock bathrooms as needed, including paper towels and toilet paper.
  • Prepare trays of salads and other meal components, as required.
  • Make juice and toppings for salads as part of meal preparation tasks.
  • Conduct regular cleaning and sanitization of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Answer phones.
  • Take temperatures for coolers and freezers, as necessary.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
