Role Overview

Sodexo has a great opportunity for a Food Service Manager 3 for Frederick Living located in Zieglerville, Pennsylvania, near King of Prussia. This upscale continuing care retirement is affiliated with Garden Spot Communities, sharing similar mission and values as faith-based organizations.

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Food Service Manager to oversee our independent living bistro, assist in managing the retail C-store and dining room service, and support kitchen operations as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and a passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents and customers. No late nights with the typical shift being 10:30 am - 7:00 pm, every other weekend coverage.


What You'll Do

  • Lead daily operations of the independent living bistro, ensuring high-quality service and a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Assist in overseeing the retail C-store and dining room service, maintaining operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Support kitchen operations as needed, collaborating with culinary staff to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Supervise and manage a team of approximately 15 hourly employees, including front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
  • Foster a positive work environment, providing guidance, training, and support to the team.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

What You Bring

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer knowledge, knowledge of POS Systems.
  • Cash handling skills.
  • Previous experience in food service management.
  • Dietary knowledge is a plus.
  • Passion for enhancing the lives of residents and customers through exceptional service.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
