Job summary

Southwest Allen County Schools is seeking a cafeteria cook for a 9-month assignment, 8 hours per day, to prepare nutritious lunches for students and staff at the district’s kitchens.

The role includes guiding food service staff, responding to routine employee situations, training new hires, and completing payroll sheets under the Director of Food Service.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of previous experience as a cook or food preparer.
• Math skills to follow and convert recipes.
• Organizational skills for a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to safely operate school food service equipment.
• Good oral and interpersonal communication to direct others.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Knowledge and practice of sanitation.
• Written skills to complete reports and logs.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, and record-keeping.
