UPMC Shadyside Hospital is hiring full-time, flex full-time, part-time, and casual Food Service Hosts to support its patient services department. These positions require working holidays and weekends.

Candidates must be available to work between 5:00 am and 8:30 pm and have open availability.

All hires must comply with UPMC’s COVID vaccination policy upon employment. Please refer to the COVID-19 Vaccination Information section at the top of this page for details.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to department procedures regarding food service equipment operation.
  • Follow hand hygiene and infection control protocols when interacting with customers.
  • Assemble and serve meals according to diet orders, menus, and patient/guest requirements.
  • Ensure necessary food and service equipment/utensils are available prior to meal service.
  • Inventory and stock supplies following established procedures and schedules.
  • Maintain food safety and quality by applying HACCP principles during service.
  • Serve patient meals using proper identification and department scripts.
  • Perform sanitation of work areas according to departmental and health guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED or 1 year of relevant experience in lieu of diploma.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
