Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum 5 years progressive food service management experience.
  • Experience with CACFP, USDA Child Nutrition Programs, Head Start, K–12 nutrition, healthcare, childcare, or institutional food service preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience supervising teams and managing multiple locations.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop nutritious, appealing, and cost-effective menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

  • Monitor serving sizes and nutritional quality across all program locations.
  • Maintain documentation for CACFP reimbursement claims, USDA monitoring, Head Start reviews, and internal audits.
  • Prepare records for inspections and compliance reviews.

Are you an experienced food service professional who is passionate about nutrition, food safety, regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional service?

We are seeking an organized, innovative, and hands-on Food Service Director to oversee our comprehensive meal program serving Early Learning Centers.

Menu Development
  • Develop nutritious, appealing, and cost-effective menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
  • Create seasonal menu rotations that provide variety while meeting nutritional standards.
  • Evaluate recipes and introduce new menu items that children enjoy while supporting healthy eating habits.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with:
    • Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
    • USDA meal pattern requirements
    • Head Start Performance Standards
    • State and local health department regulations
  • Stay current with changing federal and state regulations.
  • Ensure all meals meet age‑specific portion sizes and nutritional requirements.
  • Verify production records and meal counts for accuracy.
  • Monitor serving sizes and nutritional quality across all program locations.
  • Maintain complete documentation required for:
    • CACFP reimbursement claims
    • USDA monitoring
    • Head Start reviews
    • Internal audits
  • Prepare records for inspections and compliance reviews.

Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of progressive food service management experience. Experience with CACFP, USDA Child Nutrition Programs, Head Start, K–12 school nutrition, healthcare, childcare, or institutional food service strongly preferred.Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
