Job summary

Great Western Dining Service is seeking a Food Service Director to lead operations at Ranger College in Ranger, TX. You will plan, organize, and direct daily food service activities, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with standards.

Responsibilities include budgeting, menu planning, staff supervision, in-service training, and menu adaptations for therapeutic diets. Must obtain Serv Safe/Food Handler's Permit and maintain a professional image.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• College courses or education in food service/management preferred.
• Completion of an approved course in quantity food purchasing, production, service and nutrition is preferred.
• Prior experience as a Food Service Director in a high quality hotel, resort, restaurant, or health care.
• Ability to follow approved recipes and menus for regular and therapeutic diets.
• Good communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Hire, evaluate, coordinate, motivate, monitor performance, schedule and supervise staff.
• Conduct in-service classes for all food service staff according to a posted schedule.
• Plan, prepare, present and deliver all meals served within the property.
• Maintain budget, inventory and portion controls within budget guidelines.
• Maintain sanitary work environment and comply with local codes and policies.
• Complete necessary forms, reports, evaluations and studies to control equipment and supplies.
• Plan menus according to laws and experience and ensure adherence.
• Process diet changes and cooperate with diet plans as required.
• Order all food within budget and maintain inventories.
• Develop culinary procedures to ensure meals meet proper temperatures and timing.
• Visit with students to tailor the food service program.
