Job description

A Skilled Nursing Facility in the Rockland County area is hiring a Food Service Director.

Job Responsibilities :

Oversee, delegate, and evaluate the work of Food Service Staff.

Manage staff scheduling, and prepare department payroll data as necessary.

Supervise the proper storage and handling of food and supplies.

Ensure the cleanliness of kitchen, storage, dining areas, and equipment.

Inspect Resident trays to ensure adherence to the specified menu.

Assist with tray line operations during mealtimes, as needed.

Plan and coordinate food preparation for special events.

Handle food ordering and purchasing tasks.

Lead staff training and orientation programs.

Job Requirements :

Certification in CDM is required.

A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in food service within Long-Term Care settings is strongly preferred.

SERV Safe or Sodexo certification is preferred.

Extensive knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation.

Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
