About This Position
The Food Service Director plans, directs, and coordinates the activities associated with running a single site, stand-alone food service operation in a facility with only one kitchen and less than 1,000 inmates/beds. This position oversees the operational and financial responsibilities for the kitchen and supervises the team involved with food preparation, serving, and clean-up in a secure correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of staff and assign responsibilities
• Conduct employee orientation and training
• Perform daily tasks and oversight duties
• Ensure safety and sanitation standards
• Plan, assign, and inspect work
• Maintain a sanitary environment and comply with regulations
• Assist in meal preparation when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, at least 18 years old
• Five years of management or supervisory experience in food service
• ServSafe Certification
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
• Basic accounting and mathematical skills
• Experience in institutional food service or restaurants preferred
