Job summary

Elior School Dining is seeking a motivated food service director to lead a team in the Ft. Lauderdale area. You will manage all aspects of the dining program for students, faculty, and clients, ensuring compliance with safety and culinary standards while controlling budget and procurement.

The role requires coordinating staff, hiring and training, and communicating with executives to meet targets and deliver quality service in a school dining setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years coordinating food service operations.
• Experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication with hourly staff and executives.
• Ability to manage a diverse environment focused on client satisfaction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

The Role at a glance

We are looking to add a motivated, effective food service director to our School Dining team in Ft. Lauderdale area. As a food service director, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team of food service workers and manage all aspects of a food service department to ensure that students, faculty and clients never miss a mea

What you'll be doing

• Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources.


• Manage and lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.


• Ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.


• Budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts.


• Conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service.


• Addressing customer service needs.

What we're looking for

Must-haves

• At least three years of experience coordinating food service operations.


• Previous experience with industrial cooking.


• Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff and company executives.


• The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction.


• Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in spanish & english


• Previous experience in school dining under NSLP


• Previous experience in contract food service management


• ServSafe and/or HACCP certification

Compensation Range

up to $65,000 / year+ bonus based on experience.
