Position Summary

The Food Service Director is responsible for leading and managing a large food service operation within a secure correctional facility. This includes overseeing production kitchens and supervising a team that may include an Assistant Food Service Director, Food Service Supervisors, and Cooks.

This role is both operational and financial, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards, safety regulations, and food preparation procedures, while also managing costs and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of food preparation, service, and clean-up
• Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
• Manage scheduling, staffing, and training of kitchen personnel
• Monitor food and labor costs to meet budgetary goals
• Prepare and submit accurate reports as required
• Maintain a safe and secure working environment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Minimum 5 years' supervisory or management experience in food service
• Valid driver's license
• ServSafe Certification
• Strong knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety standards
• Basic accounting and math skills for reporting and inventory control
• Must be at least 18 years of age
