Job summary

Trio-Community Meals in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a motivated Food Service Director to lead a team and manage all aspects of a food service department to ensure clients never miss a meal.

You will oversee operations, hire/train staff, uphold safety standards, and manage budgeting and purchasing while collaborating with district leadership. This role reports to Trio-Community Meals within Elior North America.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years coordinating food service operations.
• Experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication with hourly staff and executives.
• Ability to manage diverse client-focused environment.
• Experience with MS Office suite.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add a motivated, effective food service director to our TRIO Community Meals team in San Francisco, CA. As a food service director, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team of food service workers and manage all aspects of a food service department to ensure that customers and clients never miss a meal.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources.
• Manage and lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.
• Ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts.
• Conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least two years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Previous experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff and company executives.
• The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction.
• Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Nice-to-haves:

• ServSafe and/or HACCP certification
