Luxor at Mills Pond Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking an experienced Food Service Director to lead the dietary department, overseeing meal preparation and compliance with healthcare regulations to provide an exceptional dining experience for residents.

The role requires 3–5 years of management experience in food service, preferably in healthcare, with a focus on nutrition, safety, staff supervision, and budget oversight. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in St. James, NY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food service management or related field.
• CDM or RD certification preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in food service management, preferably healthcare or long-term care.

Job Summary

Luxor at Mills Pond Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Food Service Director to lead our dietary department. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service operations, ensuring high-quality meal preparation, compliance with healthcare regulations, and an exceptional dining experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage daily operations of the food service department
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations
• Plan, develop, and implement menus that meet nutritional guidelines and resident preferences
• Supervise, train, and schedule dietary staff
• Monitor food quality, safety, and sanitation standards
• Manage department budget, inventory, and purchasing
• Collaborate with clinical teams to meet residents’ dietary needs
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to food service operations
