What You'll Do

• Develop and implement meal plans and menus that meet residents’ dietary needs, preferences, and expectations.
• Oversee kitchen staff, food production, meal preparation, and dining service to ensure consistent quality.
• Hire, train, coach, and supervise food service team members while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, portion control, and service standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation requirements, infection control practices, and industry standards.
• Manage food service budgets, expenses, inventory, purchasing, and cost-control initiatives.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing to maintain appropriate food supplies while minimizing waste.
• Develop and refine recipes and menus to provide variety, quality, and appealing dining options.
• Collaborate with department leaders to coordinate meal service, resident events, special functions, and other community activities.
• Build strong relationships with residents and families by responding to feedback and continuously improving the dining experience.
• Stay informed about food service trends, best practices, and opportunities to enhance the culinary program.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming kitchen and dining environment.

We're Looking For

• Associate’s degree or certification in culinary arts, food service management, or a related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in food service management or a related field.
• Previous supervisory or management experience in a food service environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of food service operations, culinary practices, and current industry trends.
• Proficiency in menu planning and recipe development.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification as required.
• Genuine willingness to work with and serve an elderly population.
