Job summary

Pinnacle Dietary Global is seeking a Food Service Director to lead a school nutrition program in person. You will guide a team, ensure high food safety, compliance with CACFP regulations, and maintain quality service and nutrition standards.

Strong leadership, communication, and operational oversight are essential for daily meal production and staff development. Experience in school food service, ability to travel within the district, and familiarity with food service equipment are preferred.

Job description

As a Food Service Director, your leadership and operational skills will play a key role in maintaining the high standard we are committed to maintaining. You will lead a team dedicated to providing excellent meals and customer service while ensuring compliance with all food safety and nutrition regulations. This role also focuses on staff development, communication, and continuous improvement of all aspects of food service operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee ordering, storage, preparation, cooking, and service of food in compliance with company standards
• Monitor quality
• Maintain high sanitation standards and ensure kitchen is clean, safe, and well maintained
• Supervise, train, and evaluate staff to support their professional development and ensure team efficiency
• Foster a positive, respectful work environment by being a firm but fair leader
• Maintain open communication with staff, administrators, and company leadership

Qualifications, Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition, food service management, hospitality, or a related field

OR

Skills & Experience

• Leadership experience in school food service, hospitality, or institutional food operations
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient with common food service equipment (e.g., slicer, warmer, fryer, grill, POS system)
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the district

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting (25-50 pounds)
• Able to perform tasks associated with operating a commercial kitchen

Work Schedule & Perks

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, aligned with the school calendar (no nights or weekends!)

Experience:

• School Foodservice: 1 year (Preferred)
• Knowledge of CACFP childcare regulations is a plus.

License/Certification:

• ServSafe Certificate? (Preferred)
