Job Description

Carthage Center is hiring a Food Service Director. Responsibilities include:

1. Planning, assigning, and inspecting the work of Food Service Staff.
2. Scheduling staff and preparing department payroll data.
3. Supervising storage and care of food and supplies.
4. Overseeing cleaning of kitchen, storage, dining areas, and equipment.
5. Inspecting residents' trays for menu consistency.
6. Assisting on tray line during mealtimes if required.
7. Planning food preparation for special events.
8. Ordering and purchasing supplies.
9. Staff training and orientation.

Requirements

• CDM certification preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent minimum.
• Food service experience in long-term care preferred.
• SERV Safe or Sodexo certification preferred.
• Knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation.
• Leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
