Job summary

FutureCare Annapolis is seeking a dedicated Food Service Manager to lead operations at our new Anne Arundel County location. This role focuses on managing daily dining services, budget adherence, staffing, and regulatory compliance within a post-acute care setting.

You will oversee menu planning, food safety, and reporting duties while supporting a patient-centered nutrition program and a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

• Formal culinary training or related field preferred.
• Certified Dietary Manager or in certification process within 18 months of hire.
• Maryland sanitation certification required.
• Minimum two years of health care food service management experience.
• Proven supervisory and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food service operates within established budgets.
• Direct and supervise food service staff.
• Assist in hiring, transfers, promotions, or terminations of staff.
• Maintain food quality through proper receiving, storage, and prep.
• Plan, implement, and review breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus.
• Prepare local and state reports as required.
• Follow safety procedures per Food and Safety Health department.
• Direct expenditure of the food service budget.

Overview

FutureCare is excited to open our second location in Anne Arundel County, FutureCare Annapolis. We are looking to hire a group of outstanding leaders to help build the team that will operate this new location. The facility is currently undergoing a multi-million-dollar upgrade project with a goal of opening for business in late spring of 2025. FutureCare Annapolis will be licensed as a 154-bed skilled nursing facility serving the post-acute and long-term care needs of the community.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the food service operates within established budgetary guidelines
• Assign, direct and supervise food service workers
• Assist in the hiring, transfer, promotion, demotion, or dismissal of food service workers
• Follow proper receiving, storage, and preparation techniques to insure that all food items are maintained at a high quality until consumed
• Plan, implement, and review all breakfast, lunch and dinner menus
• Prepare all local and State reports as directed or required
• Understand and implement safety procedures as required by the Food and Safety Health department
• Direct the expenditure of the food service budget

Qualifications

• Formal training (college degree preferred) in Culinary Arts or related fields
• Certified as a Dietary Manager or currently enrolled in a recognized certification course with certification being granted within 18 months of hire date
• Must be certified by the Maryland State approved sanitation program
• Must have at least two (2) years of food service management experience in the health care industry
• Previous supervisory skills and proven ability to lead and manage individuals
• Must have excellent communication skills
