Qualifications

• Education/Certification
• Current City Food Handler's permit
• High School Diploma or GED
• Only GED certificates obtained through a GED Testing Center approved by the GED Testing Service (GETS) will be accepted.
• Individual recommended for the position must pay a $49.26 fingerprinting fee by credit card as part of the application process to be considered for employment. (Fee is subject to change.)

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions
• Ability to read menus, recipes and production records
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
• Ability to promote teamwork and effectively communicate with fellow staff, students, administrators, and parents
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures
• Ability to follow instructions and meet strict health department requirements

Experience

A minimum of six month employment experience in food service and food preparation. Minimum of three years of part-time employment (substitute time) with SFDR-CISD can be used in lieu of High School Diploma or GED.
