THIS POSITION IS FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for on-site leadership of campus school nutrition operations. Duties include daily Point of Sale transactions, reconciliation, handling money, verifying Production Records, receiving goods, selling A la Carte items, and maintaining cleanliness of area and equipment. Ensure all operations adhere to safe food handling standards.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED
• ServSafe and/or Food Handlers license preferred or must be obtained within a timeframe set by the Director of Child Nutrition

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of food preparation methods, materials, equipment, and appliances
• Understanding of food handler safety procedures
• Ability to manage personnel effectively
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:

• Previous experience in a school setting preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Cafeteria Management

1. Assist with the arrangement of serving lines and serve as cashier during food service
2. Coordinate with servers and staff
3. Perform daily POS reconciliation
4. Identify reimbursable meals accurately
5. Lift and carry food and supplies to work stations as needed
6. Attend nutrition services in-service meetings

Safety and Sanitation

1. Ensure food safety and quality according to policies and health standards
2. Handle and store food and supplies safely, following health and safety codes
3. Operate tools and equipment safely, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
4. Report unsafe conditions promptly to supervisors
5. Follow procedures for securing and safeguarding facilities

Inventory and Equipment

1. Conduct regular physical inventory of equipment and supplies

Policy, Reports, and Law

1. Maintain all necessary reports and records, including financial, production, and activity logs
2. Review and submit accurate time and attendance records for payroll
3. Complete required continuing education annually

Perform any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.
