Job description

Food Service Attendant at Providence Portland Medical Center - Multiple Schedules

This position is responsible for dishwashing, patient tray line, creating and delivering floor stock, and housekeeping duties.

All Food Service staff must provide high-level customer service to patients, families, volunteers, physicians, and staff, adhering to Service Excellence Standards of Behavior at all times.

Staff must have comprehensive knowledge of, and compliance with, regulatory requirements, food safety, and sanitation regulations in a healthcare environment. Proper sanitation procedures must be followed to ensure cleanliness of ware-washing, service-ware, and equipment.

Adherence to County/State Health Department, hospital, and departmental standards, policies, and procedures is mandatory at all times.

Required Qualification:

  • National Food Handler Card issued by State, County, or City Authority upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in retail or patient dining emphasizing customer service and food handling
  • One year of computer experience, patient interaction, and food service experience
  • Experience in healthcare facilities or large food service operations
  • One year of experience in dietary kitchens using therapeutic diets
  • One year of cashiering experience
  • One year of barista experience
