    Job Summary

    Join UT Southwestern as a Food Services Attendant and be an essential part of our day-to-day operations within our hospital system. We boast a large department with several career growth opportunities in both Zale Lipshy and Clements University Hospitals. As a dietary aide for UT Southwestern, you will play a key part in providing patients with daily meals that meet their dietary needs. This valuable nutrition services role helps with the commitment UT Southwestern has to provide high quality and efficient care to our patients.

    Our food services role has both full-time and part-time availability with daytime and mid-day/evening shift options.     Job Duties
    • Deliver and pick up patient tray carts on each floor according to established policies and procedures. Deliver late trays in a timely manner. Participate in breaking down tray line and cleaning as outlined in time and duties.
    • Serve on patient tray assembly line in assigned position according to established schedule, time and duties.
    • Perform established procedures in preparation of equipment and food for patient tray line.
    • Collect, process, and dispose of trash from patient tray line and dish room. Perform ware washing procedures for patient and cafe trays. Sort, stack and returns flatware, china and trays to proper location for next meal.
    • Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings. Attend meetings as required. Alert supervisor of any issues with patients, equipment or food.
    • Monitor and document equipment temperatures according to established procedures, time and duties. Assure patient safety by verifying patient's name and room number on menu. Alert Nursing Services if menu and name on door do not correspond.
    • Complete and maintain all job performance requirements and standards as outlined in Career Ladder Program and Position Time and Duties.
    • Maintain all standards as required in Disciplinary Points Section of Career Ladder Program.
    Experience and Education
    • High school education or equivalent strongly preferred.
    • Experience in commercial food service operation or other service-related work experience is preferred.
    • Excellent customer service and strong communication skills required.
    • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
