Job summary

Kohler Co. in Kohler, Wisconsin, is seeking a Food Service Attendant – Front of House to provide professional, courteous breakfast and evening reception service in a luxury hotel setting.

You will refresh guest room honor bars, maintain cleanliness and food safety, and work closely with kitchen and service staff. This on-site, casual, part-time role requires flexible hours, a strong attention to detail, and hospitality experience.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18+ years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in food & beverage, hospitality, or customer service.
  • Previous experience in a luxury or full-service hotel environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend chemical and product labels.
  • Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, set up, and maintain breakfast and evening displays to hotel standards.
  • Ensure food quality, freshness, and presentation meet brand and health requirements.

  • Monitor buffet and dining areas; replenish supplies and maintain cleanliness.
  • Break down and sanitize stations and equipment after service.

  • Record usage and assist with inventory, waste, and costs.
  • Stock and replenish in-room honor bars per par levels and hotel guidelines.
  • Complete end-of-shift reports and restock carts.

Job description

Opportunity

The Food Service Attendant – Front of House is responsible for providing professional, efficient, and courteous service to guests during the Carriage House continental breakfast and evening reception periods. This position ensures that all food and beverage offerings meet established quality, presentation, and cleanliness standards consistent with the expectations of a luxury hotel environment. The Food Service Attendant is also responsible for refreshing guest room honor bar inventory daily.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Prepare, set up, and maintain breakfast and evening reception food and beverage displays in accordance with established hotel standards.
  • Ensure food quality, freshness, and presentation meet brand and health department requirements.
  • Greet and assist guests in a professional and courteous manner, promptly responding to questions or service requests.
  • Monitor buffet and dining areas, replenishing supplies and maintaining cleanliness throughout service periods.
  • Break down and clean food and beverage stations, service areas, and equipment after each service is complete, ensuring all items are properly sanitized, stored, and ready for the next shift.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure efficient food preparation and delivery.
  • Maintain an organized, sanitary, and safe work environment in compliance with local health and safety regulations.
  • Accurately record usage, waste, and supply needs; assist with inventory management and ordering processes.
  • Support special events or functions as assigned.
  • Accurately stock and replenish in-room honor bars with beverages, snacks, and other premium items in accordance with par levels and hotel guidelines.
  • Conduct daily inventory and record product usage to ensure accurate guest billing and proper cost controls.
  • Verify that all honor bars are clean, operational, and neatly arranged, replacing any expired or damaged products as necessary.
  • Report any discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or maintenance issues to the appropriate department promptly.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of all product offerings and hotel standards related to the guest room experience.
  • Uphold all company procedures related to room access, privacy, and guest security.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and health regulations.
  • Complete end‑of‑shift reports, restock carts, and secure all inventory and cash handling materials.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Assistant Front Desk Manager and Chef.

This is a casual part‑time position available working weekdays and weekends. Typical shifts vary between 5:00 am and 8:00 pm.

Skills/Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in hospitality management, culinary arts, or food and beverage service is preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in food and beverage, hospitality, or customer service required.
  • Previous experience in a luxury or full‑service hotel environment is highly desirable.
  • Prior restaurant, kitchen, or dining area experience is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of food preparation methods, kitchen operations, and the use of related equipment and materials.
  • Ability to read and comprehend chemical and product labels.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
  • Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations required.
  • Wisconsin Bartender’s License and ServSafe Certification (or the ability to obtain upon hire) required.
  • Food Handler’s Certification preferred.

The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
