Job summary

Food City is looking for a friendly, reliable team member to support daily operations in a fast-paced grocery environment. You will greet customers, help prepare sandwiches, slice meats and cheese, and assist with hot bar items while maintaining a clean workstation.

In this role you may take telephone orders for baked goods and cakes, follow food safety guidelines, and participate in stocking and rotation of products. On-site attendance and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Food service experience a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Prepare and make sandwiches and assist with hot bar items.
• Slice meats and cheese and serve food and drinks.
• Take telephone orders for food and specialty cakes.
• Keep workstation clean and organized, including dishwashing and mopping.
• Assist in packaging products with correct weights and ingredients.
• Follow Food Safety program and rotate stock as needed.
• Cross-train in multiple areas with varying responsibilities.
