Food Service Associate

Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Nutritional Services Director or Supervisor, performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties, as well as other related tasks.

Shift: 11:00am - 6:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation.

Pay based on experience, starting at $15.76 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assembles nourishments, floor stocks, and special diet foods as necessary.
• Complies with sanitation regulations and standards established by all regulatory agencies.
• Delivers food carts to patient care units and returns carts to the kitchen at designated times.
• Participates in tray assembly of cold ticket items; may assist with hot items as needed.
• Ensures all necessary items are on the meal tray at the start of the tray line (proper tray type, silverware, condiments, etc.).
• Washes and sanitizes returned trays/dishes promptly; washes specified items by hand (pots, pans, knives); puts away clean dishes and utensils.
• Maintains a safe work environment by cleaning as needed; keeps work areas neat, including refrigerators and storage areas; performs special cleaning duties as assigned.
• Maintains the safe operation of all food service equipment.
• Assists in the cafeteria as needed (serving, cleaning, cashiering).
• Prepares and delivers items as requested by patient care units or patients.
• Records and monitors all quality control indicators.
• Stocks all food supplies according to regulatory guidelines.
• Sweeps and mops floors as scheduled and necessary.

Requirements:

• High School diploma (Required)
• Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days (Sarah Bush Lincoln)

Compensation

Estimated Range: $15.76 - $23.64 per hour, based on experience.
