Job summary

Inter IKEA Systems B.V. is seeking a Food Co-worker in Madison, WI to ensure the operational excellence of IKEA Food. You will prepare menu items, assist customers, and maintain clean dining and merchandising areas across all IKEA Food solutions.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years related experience, with a focus on high-volume customer service. Food Handler Certification within 30 days is required in this jurisdiction; full-time and part-time openings are available with a generous benefits

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items following the IKEA Food concept and safety standards.
  • Assist customers and process sales transactions accurately while following cash handling policies.
  • Maintain equipment operation and perform preventive and cleaning maintenance.
  • Keep dining and play areas clean and organized.
  • Oversee the Swedish Food Market merchandising, pricing, stock rotation and sanitation of sampling areas.
  • Ensure accurate price communication across all food solutions (digital platforms, boards, shelf tags).
  • Maintain FIFO and stock rotation with expiration date controls.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Food Service Team Member ensuring operational excellence of IKEA Food, you will:

  • Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items according to the IKEA Food concept. Adhering to food handling, health, and sustainability standards.
  • Respond to customer inquiries to support informed purchases and process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, adhering to cash handling policies.
  • Maintain equipment operation through adherence to operating guidelines, troubleshooting breakdowns, and conducting preventive and cleaning maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean supply of dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and trays that comply with Food Safety Standards.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of dining and play areas.
  • Manage the Swedish Food Market by overseeing merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and the cleaning and sanitization of sampling equipment and areas.
  • Ensure accurate and timely price communication across all food solutions, including digital platforms, menu boards, and shelf tags.
  • Maintain supply rotation and stocking in all IKEA Food solutions, adhering to First In, First Out (FIFO), expiration dates, and sustainability standards.
  • Implements IKEA Food policies and procedures for goods receiving and monthly inventory.
  • Adhere to safe food handling, workplace safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations, promptly reporting concerns to managers.
  • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.

We are hiring:

  • Full-time Food Co-worker, requires full open availability Monday-Sunday.
  • Part-time Food Co-workers, 12-20 hours a week, open weekends required

The pay range for this role is $17.58 - $24.83 based on IKEA equivalent years of experience.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years related experience.
  • Experience in a high-volume customer facing environment preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume retail environment with knowledge of basic merchandising and selling concepts preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification and/or Food Handler Card (as required by local jurisdiction) required within 30 days of employment.
