Job summary

Cape Cod Hospital is seeking a versatile Food Service Aide to support Nutrition & Food Service operations. You will slice meats, prepare foods, assemble patient meals, and assist in cafeteria service and dish room tasks, ensuring smooth daily service for patients and visitors.

Responsibilities include delivering and collecting patient trays, stocking floors, washing dishes, and maintaining sanitation. English communication and cash register operation are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English to understand and respond to basic verbal and written English language instruction.
• Operate the cash registers with ability to make change.

• Slice meats and cheeses; prepares and assembles foods including fruits, salad type vegetables, salad mixes, between meal nourishments, tube feedings, gelatins, salads, sandwiches, juices, coffee.
• Deliver and collect patient meal trays for Cape Cod Hospital and assemble patient trays and hot/cold beverages.
• Service patient meals including between meal snacks, floor kitchenette stock and sanitation.
• Service the cafeteria including all aspects of the service areas including grill and cashiering.
• Work in the dish room and wash, rinse and sanitize pots, pans, equipment, floors and storage areas.
• Remove trash, garbage, cardboard, milk & bread crates.
• Performs all duties in compliance with hospital, local and regulatory standards.
• Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.

Job description

1. Slices meats and cheeses; prepares and assembles foods including but not limited to fruits, salad type vegetables, salad mixes (veg. & meat), between meal nourishments, tube feedings, gelatins, salads, sandwiches, juices, coffee for the Nutrition & Food Service facilities.
2. Services patient meals including between meal snacks, tube feedings, floor kitchenette stock and sanitation, delivering patient meals, collecting patient trays from patient floors, preparing and assembling cold foods, assembling patient trays and hot and cold beverages.
3. Services the cafeteria including all aspects of the service areas including grill and cashiering.
4. Works in the dish room.
5. Washes, rinses and sanitizes pots and pans, equipment, floors, walls, and storage areas.
6. Removal of trash, garbage, cardboard, milk & bread crates.
7. Delivers and picks up patient meal trays for Cape Psych Center.
8. Performs all duties in compliance with hospital, local and regulatory standards.

9. Performs other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested
