Major Responsibilities
  • Accurately performs patient room service and tray line positions.
  • Portions food during room service line and tray line service according to menu specifications and established guidelines.
  • Replenishes food items as supplies decrease and checks trays against menus for accuracy.
  • Sets up assigned room service and tray line positions, in preparation for patient meal service.
  • Responds to tube system and accurately performs & delivers courtesy trays and portions food for patient courtesy trays according to menu specifications and established guidelines.
  • Checks trays against menus for accuracy.
  • Loads patient courtesy tray carts with appropriate trays.
  • Delivers courtesy trays to designated units.
  • Correctly performs dish room procedures, including setting up, bringing down dirty trays, cleaning, sanitizing, and completing duties according to procedures.
  • Sanitizes pots and pans, cleans work areas, and maintains safety practices.
  • Breaks down equipment following safety practices.
  • Maintains safe and sanitary conditions, including cleaning all work areas, rotating, labeling, and dating food items, and wearing hairnets as designated.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Exposed to temperature changes, heat, cold.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance and/or 10-15 pounds frequently.
  • Requires bending and other physical activities.
