Job summary

Lake Region Healthcare is hiring a Food Service Assistant to deliver patient meals, assist with meal preparation, and serve visitors in the on-site cafeteria. You will learn about diet orders to ensure meals match dietary requirements and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

The role offers on-site shifts with on-the-job training, ServSafe courses, and opportunities to cross-train in other areas of Nutrition Services. Strong communication and a patient-focused approach are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to complete course.
• Six months related experience preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Ability to interact with patients, physicians, employees, and guests.
• Must be able to attend the work site per schedule.
• Pre-employment health screening required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver room service meals to patients.
• Wash and sanitize dishes and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Serve co-workers and visitors in the cafeteria.
• Brew Caribou coffee for staff and guests.
• Deliver meals to catered meetings on site.
