Good Samaritan Society in Windom, MN is seeking a Food Service Assistant to join our not-for-profit team. This part-time role involves monitoring and recording food temperatures, maintaining a clean serving area, preparing and serving meals, restocking items, and handling payments with friendly service to residents.

Minimum age 16 with customer service experience preferred; basic math and reading/writing skills required. On‑the‑job training provided; weekend pay premium applies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 16 years of age.
• Previous customer service experience, retail counting and reconciliation of money and knowledge of food service preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
• Basic math skills required; on‑job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record proper food temperatures according to HACCP guidelines.
• Set up and maintain a clean, sanitized serving area; prepare and serve food items.
• Restock food areas and operate food service equipment (grills, coffee/beverage machines, toasters, dishwashers, cash registers).
• Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register; provide outstanding customer service.
