Food Service Assistant, Part Time, Non Exempt

This is a Part Time, Non Exempt position, offering 15-25 hours per week with the potential for full-time work during summer months.

The Food Service Assistant works under the supervision of the ECC Chef and assists with meal preparation and distribution for the Early Childhood Center and Summer Camp. Responsibilities include using various techniques to prepare dishes and following sanitation requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Prepare items for meal service, such as chopping vegetables and pre-cooking.
  • Maintain sanitation standards in kitchen areas and equipment, complying with RIDOH and DHS regulations.
  • Assist in kitchen setup and breakdown, including receiving, storage, and proper food storage.
  • Demonstrated experience aligned with the Alliance's core values.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse communities.
  • Knowledge of CACFP and SFSP regarding menus, recipes, and portion sizes.
  • Experience in cooking or food prep for groups, preferably in childcare settings.
  • Certifications in ServSafe, CPR, and First Aid.
  • DHS clearance and background check upon hiring.
  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs and stand for 7 hours.
Salary:

Under $25,000 annually.
