Missouri Veterans Commission is seeking a Food Service Assistant to help provide nutritious, appetizing meals for veterans in Cameron. The role offers the opportunity to interact with residents and contribute to compassionate care through hands-on kitchen duties.

Pay is $16.83 per hour. The position involves meal service, food preparation, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean dining area with some lifting and movement of heavy containers.

Qualifications

• 0–1 years of experience in food service or a related role.
• Basic food safety and handling knowledge preferred.
• Ability to lift and move heavy food containers and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterans with meals, including meal selection, tray line assembly, and serving.
• Prepare foods as assigned and deliver/pick up food carts to resident areas.
• Clean dining area, sweep/mop floors, and remove garbage.
• Operate dish machine and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Load, stock, label, and rotate supplies as needed.
