Position: Food Service Assistant Manager

Purpose of Position:
Assist the Manager in directing the day-to-day operation of an assigned store in a manner that exceeds Company Goals and Expectations of Total Quality Service to our Guests. Assist in maintaining the store in a manner that upholds Par Mar Stores Image Standards and supports the Branded Concept.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Manager in training and directing all employees to meet daily expectations while complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Greet and acknowledge Guests courteously, using proper greetings and acknowledging their departure with appropriate exit statements.
- Personalize Guest interactions by observing and using their names when possible.
- Maintain high standards of Guest satisfaction through prompt, courteous, knowledgeable service, and quality products.
- Enforce and adhere to company and brand standards regarding uniform and personal appearance.
- Train and lead employees in cash control, cleanliness, organization, food handling, and inventory management.
- Utilize the “Manager’s Redbook” for shift communication and task management.
- Ensure proper handling of company assets, including cash, inventory, and store cleanliness.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and store inspections as per company standards.
- Maintain stock levels and store appearance through proper inventory control.
- Ensure store safety and food handling standards are met to prevent illness and injury.
- Address and resolve food quality and service complaints effectively.
- Monitor sales data to optimize staffing and operational efficiency.
- Maintain recipe standards and portion control according to brand requirements.
- Identify and support the development of employees for potential promotion based on performance.
- Promote and support store promotions and community engagement activities.
- Implement loss prevention strategies and report dishonest activities.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and timely.
- Uphold a professional store atmosphere aligning with company standards.
- Follow company policies on dress code, merchandise handling, and expense control.
- Foster team communication and support upper management directives.
- Make objective decisions considering company policies, laws, and safety standards.
- Continue personal development through training and education.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance for company-related driving tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be able to:
- Stand for 8-10 hours on a hard surface.
- Lif up to 50 pounds and maneuver items onto dollies.
- Work in cold environments and handle chemicals safely.
- Climb ladders and shelves, bend, twist, and reach as needed.
- Handle various shapes and sizes of items, including cash and supplies.
- Use fingers bilaterally and unilaterally for tasks like counting and operating machinery.
- Have corrected hearing and vision to perform job duties effectively.
- Work around odors, dust, and fumes in moderate temperatures.
- Perform repetitive tasks with dexterity, especially when using slicers and knives.
- Read fuel tanks manually and respond calmly to emergencies.
- Remain composed and alert in stressful situations, avoiding impairment from drugs or alcohol.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for business-related driving.
