Job Summary

The Food Service Assistant is responsible for duties including monitoring food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food, restocking, cleaning equipment, and handling payments with a computerized register. Adheres to HACCP guidelines, provides excellent customer service, and communicates effectively with patrons and coworkers. Demonstrates ability to establish effective working relationships.

Maintains quality control standards and may operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers. Experience in the food industry is preferred.

Must be able to work independently, understand food safety and sanitation, and be on feet for most of the day, walking long distances.

Qualifications

Minimum age of 16. Previous customer service, retail, and cash handling experience preferred. Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and perform basic math. On-the-job training provided.

Depending on location, ServSafe certification may be required within a designated timeframe. Basic Life Support (BLS) may also be required based on location.
