Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Food Service Assistant II at Elmhurst Hospital to prepare and serve meals for patients and staff. Evening shifts are available, with rotating weekends and holidays. This per diem, as needed role requires timely, professional service in a healthcare setting.

The position emphasizes food safety, quality, and teamwork to support patient care. Certification in a Food Handler Training program is required within 30 days of starting.

Qualifications

• Certification: Food Handler Training Certificate Program (ANSI Accredited) within 30 days of start date, required.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED and minimum of one year of food service experience in a healthcare setting.

Hourly Pay Range: $17.78 - $24.89 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Position: Food Service Assistant II
• Location: Elmhurst Hospital
• Per Diem, as needed
• Hours: Evenings, 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM with rotating weekends and holidays.

What you will do:

• The Food Service Assistant II performs a wide variety of duties involved in preparing and/or serving foods and beverages in one or more of a variety of food service environments.
• Is responsible for the assembly, serving and/or delivery of meals to patients and/or staff in an efficient, professional, and timely manner.
• This position functions as part of the team that ensures food safety and quality for patients, visitors and staff.

• Certification: Successful completion of a Food Handler Training Certificate Program (ANSI Accredited) within 30 days of start date of position, required.
