Lovington Municipal Schools is seeking a Food Service Worker to provide friendly, responsive service in a clean and safe cafeteria environment, following recipes, production records and manager instructions.
The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to stand for long periods, basic cooking and cleaning skills, and willingness to follow policies and health regulations while working with students, staff and parents.
Under the general direction of the Food Service Manager, workers provide friendly, responsive service in a clean and safe environment that all of our customers and co-workers will enjoy.
Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 5 hours). Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop. Must possess a food handler's card within two (2) weeks of hire, if applicable. Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver cases of food frequently weighing up to 40 pounds. The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, crouching, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Employees in this position work in a dynamic environment that requires them to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
