Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Food Service Worker I to perform non-cooking tasks such as washing dishes, cold prep, salad production, serving, tray passing, loading carts, and general cleaning. You will support patients and staff by delivering safe, quality food service with dependable attendance.

Preferred education is a high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year in a service environment. English reading/writing is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in a service-related environment.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Customer-focused with courteous communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintains relationship with patients and customers to attain quality satisfaction of food.
• Is courteous, considerate and cooperative when communicating with all patients, guests, team members, and hospital personnel.
• Ability to work in direct contact with a variety of foods.
• Able to meet schedule requirements (attendance and punctuality).
