Job summary

Schlegel Villages Riverside Glen in Ontario is seeking a part-time Food Service Aide to join our village kitchen team. You will help serve meals and beverages to residents, ensuring diets and preferences are respected while upholding safe and sanitary food handling techniques.

The role offers Days, 8:00–16:00, 30 hours biweekly (Week 1: Fri, Week 2: Tue/Sat/Sun), on-site, with potential benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Food Services Diploma and Food Handler certification.
• Demonstrates caring, respectful attitude toward residents, families and staff.
• Experience in long-term care is preferred or demonstrated willingness to learn.

Description

The Village of Riverside Glen has an exciting opportunity for a Food Service Aide to join their team.

Shift Details: Days, 8:00 - 16:00, 30 hours biweekly (Week 1: Fri, Week 2: Tue/Sat/Sun)

The hiring rate for this role is $22.78 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and a Tuberculosis (TB) screening test before starting.

As a new Food Services Team Member joining our Village, you will:

Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residents. You will assist in serving meals and beverages to our residents ensuring we meet residents’ diets and food preferences while following safe and sanitary food handling techniques.

Food Services Team Members at Schlegel Villages assist with the preparation of catering functions and events, and in maintaining and clean dining room and workspace.

To be successful as our new Food Services Team Member, you will:

• Obtained your Food Services Diploma
• A valid Food Handlers certification
• Be excited by our objectives, our Village philosophy and the family values that shape all aspects of life in a Schlegel Village
• Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
• Or equivalent based on experience and or international education and have the ability to acquire the above mentioned if requested to do so. Additional document may be requested during the initial screening process.

It would be an asset if our new Food Services Team Member has:
